About FTL Faster Than Light
FTL Faster Than Light is a top down real time strategy game developed and released by Subset Games in September 14, 2012. The story is about a spacecraft that holds critical information and that’s stalked by a large rebel fleet. The player controls the ship over galactic sectors with planetary systems and events generated in a roguelike fashion, while facing against hostile forces, recruiting new crew, outfitting and upgrading the spacecraft. The combat features pausable real time. If the ship is destroyed or the crew’s lost, the game ends in permadeath, requiring a restart. The concept is based on tabletop board and other non-strategic space combat games that required the managing of ship’s functions.
